About me
DeVante Love (They/Them) is a 9th Generation Warrior Monk, Kung Fu Dancer, Holistic Therapist, and performance artist whose work creates transformative spaces where dance, healing practices, and popular culture intersect. As a cultural analyst with a master's in Clinical Psychology from Columbia University, DeVante bridges psychological theory with popular culture through immersive ritual performances that invite folks to connect deeply with their emotions and find inner peace. Their innovative approach integrates spiritual martial arts, dance, meditation practices, and media analysis. DeVante's performances have garnered international acclaim, with appearances across the US, China, Taiwan, Japan, Egypt, Mexico, and France. Following the success of their first immersive ritual play exploring race and family, they are currently developing their second production centered on healing our disconnection from the natural world and reclaiming our inner warrior. Their forthcoming book, Netflix and Heal: A Monk's Guide to Inner Peace Through Movies, offers accessible pathways to spiritual growth through engaging with popular media.
